STONELEIGH ELEMENTARY PTA 2010-2011 – OPEN POSITIONS
If you are interested in taking a leadership role in your PTA next year, please consider volunteering as a chairperson. Open positions are listed below. Contact an officer (Sheri Buttarazzi, PTA President; Colleen Mahony, PTA VP of Programs; Denise Supensky, PTA VP of Volunteers) if you are interested or if you would like more information.
Cultural Enrichment Chairperson: OPEN
The chairperson in partnership with the school administration select cultural enrichment activities that support the schools curriculum and help enrich students education by exposing them to literature, art, music and theatre. Volunteers assist at the school with the prescheduled performances.
Gold and Blue and Creative, Too Layout Chairperson: OPEN
Family Socials Chairperson: OPEN
The Family Socials Chairperson is repsonsible for planning fun, PTA sponsored activities for Stoneleigh families. Some of the activities include: Ice Cream Social, Movie Night, and Family Picnic.

Fall Fundraiser
Publicity Chairperson: Mindy Williams
Responsible for distributing fundraising materials to students, writing morning announcements, and creating participation boards in the school lobby.
Incentive Chairperson: OPEN
Responsible for awarding prizes and incentives to participating students.
Fullfilment Chairperson: Angela Shrewsberry
Responsible for financial tracking of fundraiser and provides receipts to the Treasurer. Coordinates volunteers to support delivery day of orders.
Newsletter Editor Editor- Susan Schoenfeld /Co-Editor- OPEN
The Newsletter Editor is responsible for gathering and publishing the PTA newsleter each month.
Gardening Chairperson: OPEN
Literature Enrichment Chairperson: OPEN
This chairperson coordinates with Stoneleigh Elementary staff at the end of the school year to acquire specific literature selections for the classroom with PTA funds.
Walking Wednesdays Co-Chairperson: OPEN /Co-Chairperson: Laure Bowman
The chairperson creates a school-wide “hike” across a country and writes morning announcments to highlight and describe interesting places along the hiking route for students to hear. Walking Wednesday calendars are printed, copies, and distributed to each class monthly. The chairperson tallies the number of calendars returned and miles walked monthly and communicated the the results. The bulletin board is updated to correspond with the “hike” using maps and pictures. The chairperson creates activities for International Walk to School Week (typically in October) that encourages students and their families to walk to school and to participate in the SES Walking Wednesday program.
